Writing Contest: Haiku Day Winner
Hey Woozens,
Happy National Haiku Day! You may remember that we recently asked you to send us YOUR haikus! Boy, oh boy, you sure are a talented bunch! We got a ton of entries, so of course, this was a tough decision!
Check out our faves below.
The light in your eyes,
So bright that I'm mesmerized,
Like stars in the sky.
Cold winds slowly warm,
Sleeping seedlings grow awake,
Spring is upon us.
My dearest sunshine,
Embrace me with your warm arms,
Melt this frozen heart.
In the warm sunlight I feel,
Something quite surreal,
Nothing man can steal.
My mind is captive,
Looking at a blank canvas,
Here goes my first stroke.
Night is a blanket,
Far away from daytime noise,
Peacefulness abounds.
Winter nights grow short,
The spring days gently expand,
I see nature smile.
A pink unveiling,
Cherry blossoms in full bloom,
Fallen petals dance.
Fragrant floral breeze,
Reflections in crystal seas,
Nature's voice is freed.
Grey clouds fill the sky,
Tears fall, drip down the window,
Sun shines, a rainbow.
The simplicity,
Of the common haiku is,
One to be adored.
Origin of love,
Finding my missing pieces,
So we can be whole.
He held me closely,
And stared deeply in my eyes,
I forget to breathe.
Starry night, you are,
Eyes shine like a thousand stars,
Captivating me.
It has to be you,
You who my heart longs; and you?
Still, you long for her.
Which one is your fave? Let us know in the comments!
