[Wired] Introducing the AreaPod: Detect Users in a Custom Zone!
Ever wanted to trigger an action when Woozens gather in a specific spot? The new AreaPod lets you do just that! Whether you're building a team-based challenge, a pressure-plate puzzle, or an event that starts when enough players show up, this new Wired tool has you covered.
What It Does
The AreaPod allows you to define a zone around it (using Radius X and Radius Y settings), and it will detect how many Woozens, Bestiz, or Pawns are standing inside that zone. Once the number of users in the area reaches your defined Target, it will trigger a Power Output. At the same time, it also constantly reports the current number of users in the zone through its Amount output.
The user count updates only when someone stops moving inside or outside the zone. It won't update while users are walking.
How to Set It Up
- Place the AreaPod in your Unitz.
- Set the Radius X and Radius Y values to define the size of the detection zone.
- Choose a Target value. This is how many users need to be in the zone to activate the output.
- (Optional) Plug something into Power Input A if you want the AreaPod to work only under specific conditions. If left empty, the pod is always on.
- Connect Power Output A to another pod (like a Blockade) to trigger an event when the target is reached.
- Use the Amount output to track how many users are in the zone and display it using a Scoreboard.
Advanced Tips for Wired Pros
Want your detection zone to grow or shrink during your game? You can dynamically change the size of the AreaPod's zone by connecting Wired inputs to the Radius X and Radius Y values.
For example:
- Start with a small zone that expands as the game progresses.
- Shrink the zone over time to increase difficulty.
- Change the shape of the area based on which team is winning.
This gives you full control to create adaptive and evolving game mechanics using AreaPod!
Other improvements and bug fixes:
- Wired: Encoders and Vectors now have a "Reset" input to reset them to their default value
- Wired: Fixed some issues with Pawns and Floor Switches where their states wouldn't update properly if you moved/removed them while being toggled
- Profile Theme can now be previewed from Grabz before being won
- Fixed an issue with Unitz backgrounds where you would still see the version available for Wooz after permanently unlocking a new Background
We can't wait to see the creative ways you'll use the AreaPod and show off your best profile PoseZ!
