a daily routine of a fourth year college student who plays woozworld
by humbles

i wake up and look at my phone - no, stare at it. it's 12 pm. i missed my class. what should i do?
i unlock my phone, scroll through my apps, and open woozworld.
i check the daily calendar, claim whatever the reward is, spin the wheel, and log off.
i should go to class now, no?
wrong.
i open discord, scroll through server list, and press wzw updates.
i press the general channel, type in a 'hi' and scroll through the conversation.
i get off bed, shower, makeup, wear my uniform.
it's finally time to go to my last class of the day
You Will Prosper
by Anonymous
Before I become a keyboard warrior, I'd like to give a special thanks to my dear friend, Artemis, for teaching me the value of being unbothered.
I've been playing Woozworld for I don't know how many years now, and at one point, I was way too emotionally attached to this game. I constantly have to remind myself that it's just a game, and whatever happens, happens. Artemis is always snapping some sense into me 25/8, usually reminding me of the same thing: people are going to do what benefits them. Some people will do anything to feel seen or included, even when it doesn't align with the values they claim to have. And honestly, she's right.
Whenever I feel sad about something, she always tells me, "You will prosper." At first, I thought that was a little corny because I genuinely thought she was being sarcastic. BUT SHE WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG. I took her advice, went outside, and inhaled that beautiful grass. As the days went by, I somehow started making friends in this mysterious place called Real Life and going on actual adventures with them. Eventually, I realized I had completely forgotten about whatever negativity was happening on Woozworld.
And the thing is, I genuinely love Woozworld itself. I still enjoy the game, I just learned that I don't need to involve myself in everything surrounding it. Nowadays, I mostly spend money on Store fits, sell them on Marketplace to support the game, mind my business, and log off. Simple life.
Now, I usually just sell stuff in Marketplace and log off. But then, I decided to scroll through Woozin to see if there's anything new, and as I scrolled, I was starting to notice a pattern. I've seen Woozens talk about how playing Woozworld has genuinely started affecting their mental health, and it makes me wonder, "Is this game really that toxic?" But I don't think the game itself is necessarily the problem. It's the Woozens who create around it..prove me wrong if you want lol. I've watched them quit, come back two weeks later, and quit all over again because they get pulled right back into the same cycle.
You might be thinking, "Well, the toxicity won't get to me." Maybe it won't right away, but being around it long enough can eventually affect you, even if you're one of the quiet ones who stays out of everything. That's why learning to be unbothered has been so difficult for me. I tend to overthink and wonder what's being said behind my back, especially when you can go an entire month without knowing someone had an issue with you. But I'm slowly realizing that always worrying about what Woozens might be saying gives a game way more power over me than it deserves.
Being unbothered doesn't mean I suddenly stopped caring at all. I just started being more careful about what I allow myself to care about. People are going to talk, people are going to switch up, and people are going to do whatever they want regardless of how much you sit there thinking about it. Meanwhile, life outside the screen keeps moving.
So thank you, Artemis, for reminding me 25/8 to mind my business, protect my peace, remember that I WILL PROSPER, and most importantly, log off when it starts feeling like too much.
Thank you for the posts. xx
