Prom Sabotage 1976: Who did it?

Prom-loving Woozens,

Just hours before this prom in 1976 is set to begin, the entire sound system has gone missing! How can there possibly be a prom without MUSIC?

We need to find out who's responsible for this ASAP.

So far, we've narrowed it down to two suspects: James and Nicole. They are the only two students who had access to the sound system before prom.

A little backstory on these two:

James is the most popular guy in school. Always there to lend a hand, he's not only the captain of the football team, he also spends his free time volunteering teaching kids to play guitar. An all-around nice guy, it would be shocking if James were behind an act like this!

Nicole is a mellow, friendly student with a big smile and an even bigger heart. A key member of most of the school's clubs, she's a friend of everyone! Nicole gets good grades but also knows how to have fun and keep things light. It would be very out of character for this gentle soul to be involved in any kind of sabotage!

How could it have been either of these two??? We just don't know.
