Women's Month is beautiful in many ways. It's a time when people come together to celebrate women, uplift their voices, and recognize their strength and resilience. I love that energy. But to me, it's also something deeper than just celebration. Women's Month is a reminder. A reminder of how far we've come, but also how far we still have to go. Sometimes that reminder appears in uncomfortable ways, in everyday moments where women are expected to laugh off things that shouldn't be acceptable. Misogyny doesn't always arrive loudly. Sometimes it hides behind humor, disguised as a joke people expect women to laugh along with. But misogyny dressed up as a joke is still misogyny. A laugh doesn't erase the impact. Words matter. The way we talk about women matters. Women are powerful, creative, emotional, ambitious, and complex. We deserve the space to exist fully without being reduced to stereotypes or punchlines, and we should never feel the need to shrink ourselves just to make others comfortable. Women's Month also reminds us of the women who fought for the rights many of us have today. Their courage opened doors that once felt impossible to unlock, and honoring them means continuing the work they started. Personally, I want to dedicate this to my mom, whose quiet strength, resilience, and love have shaped who I am today. We've made progress, but the journey isn't over. Women deserve respect, opportunity, and equality every single day, not just in March. Happy Women's Month!

My mom. I'm not sure how many of you have seen Stand and Deliver, but her story was the only true personal one in the movie. She started off working at my grandpa's restaurant. My grandpa did not want her going to school, but the teacher saw so much in my mom, knowing that she could succeed in her schooling, so he pressured my grandpa to let my mom stay in school. She is now an electrical engineer (because she got her master's degree) who helps build airplane parts. She's pretty amazing; she started off with Xerox and is now working for the government. I'd like to be a sign language interpreter one day and be able to sign; even for free, I wouldn't mind interpreting for people who need it. Because of my mom, I'm succeeding in my classes so far.

The most powerful woman in my life isn't a celebrity or a historical figure. It's my mom. She's a nurse, and growing up I always admired how she cared for others with patience, strength, and compassion. But the moment that truly showed me how extraordinary she is happened when I was younger. We were involved in a car accident, and everything felt chaotic and frightening. While others panicked, my mom immediately stepped in. Even though she had just been through the accident herself, she stayed calm and focused on making sure I was okay. She used her medical knowledge and quick thinking to help me when I needed it most. At that moment, she wasn't just my mom, she was my hero. Watching her act with such courage and care left a deep impression on me. It showed me the true meaning of being a nurse: staying strong in difficult moments and helping people when they need it most. Because of her, I followed the same path. Today, I am proud to say that I am a registered nurse, working to care for others the way she cared for me. My mom didn't just save me that day; she inspired the person I became. To me, that's what true strength looks like.

Professor Wendy Powley is probably my savior in university. She's the kindest professor I've ever had; punctual, direct, and knows what she wants. I've been blessed to have gotten to know her, have a working relationship with her, and have her be my mentor throughout my time in university. She believed in me and my capabilities, and gave me the opportunity to TA her courses and guide me to become a better teacher myself. I'm so blessed to have been working with her.

One of the most inspiring women in my life is my mother. She may not be famous, but she has had a powerful impact on my life. Through her kindness, hard work, and support, she inspires me to become a better person every day. My mother always encourages me to do my best in school and never give up when things become difficult. Whenever I feel stressed about homework or worried about something, she listens to me and gives helpful advice. Her support makes me feel confident and motivated to keep trying. What inspires me the most about my mother is her strength and dedication to our family. She works hard and still makes time to take care of us. Even when she is tired, she remains patient, loving, and supportive. Because of my mother, I have learned the importance of kindness, responsibility, and perseverance. She reminds me that with effort and determination, I can achieve my goals. To me, my mother is truly an inspiring woman because she guides me, supports me, and helps me believe in myself.

What does strength look like when no one is watching, when no applause is given and no one sees the sacrifices? To me, it looks like my mom. She raised me and my sister on her own, carrying responsibilities that were never meant for just one person. Yet somehow, she did it anyway. She became everything we needed at once. She made sacrifices we probably didn't even notice growing up, quietly choosing our needs over her own. When I was younger, she was rarely home. She had to work far away, sometimes only visiting once every two months. But strangely, I never truly felt that she was gone. One phone call from her was enough to remind us that she was always there, working, fighting, and sacrificing so we could have a better life. What inspires me most isn't just that she provided for us. It's that she stayed. Even when life was against her, she never gave up on us. She showed us what resilience looks like and taught us independence, strength, and how to love deeply without losing ourselves. Being a mother is one of the most important roles in the world, yet oftentimes, they are neglected. My mom carried that role with courage, even when the road was lonely. Sometimes I remember that behind that strong image is a little girl who once had dreams of her own-because before she became our mother, she was someone else's daughter too. If strength had a face, it would look like her.

First off, Happy Women's Day to ALL the women all over the world; you are special, you are strong, you are kind! The person who is the most inspiring to me and has made a huge impact on my life would be my grandmother. She was the definition of tough love, advice-giving, and hard-working. She taught me life skills I never would have thought would be relevant in my life, but here we are. Sometimes we take for granted how much grandmas can mean to us, so this Women's Day, I honor her. Miss you, Gma!

My mother is the quiet hero of my life. When I was lost in the dark of an abusive love, she held the light for me. Strong as storms, gentle as home, she raised two daughters alone and taught us how to rise above it all.

There are few souls as resilient as Pearl, my girlfriend for almost 5 months. Since my mother, I have never known strength quite like hers, and I mean that with every fiber of my being. When for some reason the world tried to tear us apart, when voices that never bothered to understand planted seeds of doubt in her mind, she never really meant for us to break up, I can feel it. Even when circumstances pulled us apart, she came back. She asked me if I was sure because she wasn't. In that question, everything sinks in for me: her hope, her refusal to give up, her belief that what we built was worth fighting for. Pearl was fighting for us. For me. For this love that only her and I understand. She chose me. She chose us. And in doing so, she walked away from toxicity with her head held high, cutting off those who judged without ever seeking truth. Pearl knows how I treated her, nothing but what she deserves. That courage, that clarity of heart is rare. It is precious. It is her. Pearl is a keeper. And I will keep her. I will not let us almost lose each other again, not when I see how fiercely she loves, how loyally she stands, how bravely she chooses hope over fear. The world doesn't get to decide what we are. Only we know the weight and warmth of what we share. So here is my promise: "I see her. I will always choose her. I will fight beside her. Whatever comes, we face it together as two people who know exactly how genuine this love is, and exactly how worth keeping it."

My auntie grew up in a small village, where opportunities for girls were few and far between. From a young age, she dreamed of a better life, not just for herself, but for her community. She faced pressure to conform to traditional roles, but her love for knowledge and her desire to make a difference were stronger. Secretly, she pursued an education, often reading by candlelight after a long day of chores. When the chance finally came to her, she left her village, but she said she would return and uplift those she left behind. Years later, armed with new skills and a relentless spirit, she did come back. She established a community center, offering education, health resources, and vocational training to women and children. Her dedication transformed countless lives, proving that with courage and conviction, one person can ignite a candle of hope for an entire community.

My mother is my life and I'm proud of her so much because she raised me alone. I don't have a father; she takes care of me alone. She never tells us that she has any problems or anything. She doesn't create any dream of her own, she just wants her children's success. My mother is my dad and my life. She's brave, strong, kind, and everything. Only she knows how she handled everything when we were only 3 years old and our father left us, and my mom never married again. My mother is my life hero. I love my mother so much. I honestly wanna say every woman who left their whole life dreams for their family, that woman is the hero of their family. I'm really happy to share with you my feelings. I'm proud of my mother, the real woman or real man of the family. I love you so much, Mom...

My friend, Gem. She not only has dealt with a lot of troubles in her life but has also been there to help me with mine. She has shown me true friendship, loyalty, and kindness in this world filled with negativity. She is such an inspiration to me because of how hard she works for the things she wants in life. Her grit, her joy, her style has inspired me in ways to better myself. I have learnt so much in life because of this woman. I will always appreciate the love she shares and the knowledge she bears.

The most inspiring woman is my mom. While she is not a celebrity or someone who made history, she is a hero in my eyes. Growing up, I didn't understand how much time, effort, and strength it took to raise children. It almost looked easy; the way she came home after a long day and still had a smile on her face seemed completely natural to her. I grew up comfortably without worry and always had her full support regardless of my decisions. While raising me, she was and still is a career woman. She endured long and labor-intensive hours to make a living and build her career. Her hands turned rough with calluses, but she never complained. People may think her hands are too rough, but to me, it is a sign of strength and perseverance. Through the pots of soup she spent hours making or the washed fruit she cut, her love was never lacking. I will always remember the soups she made and the hours she spent preparing them before I left to study. Even now she still washes and cuts fruit for me, a gesture of love that can never be overlooked. While recognizing her love and perseverance, I also want to acknowledge the sacrifices she made along the way. The person I am today would not be here without her, and I truly owe it all to my mom. This isn't just my story, but a thank you to the woman who raised me.

The woman who inspires me is none other than the woman I love. Sometimes you realize more when you discover a love quite like hers. The way she's there when she can be, even if she has a lot on her plate, even when she's busy, she finds a way to still make time for me. I realized with her, love is more than time spent, but also patience and trust. She's been the person I've needed, even with our worlds being different. As much as there's been amazing women in history, there's only one of her that could have meant as much as she does to me. She inspires me to do better, and she believes in me. We're the ultimate slow burn, but every moment with her means the world to me. Beauty is more than what you see, but what's within, which makes her the most beautiful to me. How hard she works; she doesn't give up. I love how independent she is. She inspires me to want to be like her sometimes. I couldn't imagine my life without a woman like her, because she inspires me every day.

One of the most inspiring women in my life is a nurse who helped me during a difficult time. She may not be famous, but to me, she is a true hero. She showed me what kindness, strength, and compassion really look like. When I first met her, I was scared and unsure about what would happen next. She spoke to me gently and treated me with patience and respect. She did more than just her job. She made sure that my voice was heard and she advocated for me when I felt too weak to speak for myself. She stood up for my needs and made sure I received the care and attention that I deserved. She also helped guide me through rehabilitation. There were days when I felt tired and discouraged, but she kept encouraging me to keep going. She reminded me that healing takes time and that every small step forward mattered. Her support helped me stay strong and believe that I could recover. She always went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Whether it was adjusting my pillows, checking on me often, or simply sitting with me and speaking kindly, she made sure I never felt alone. Her care made a hard time feel a little easier. What inspired me most was how dedicated she was to helping others. Even when things were busy, she still took the time to make sure patients felt safe, supported, and respected. Her kindness and strength left a lasting mark on my life.

My mom will always be my biggest hero. She came to the United States with nothing to her name and worked to give me and my brother the life she always envisioned for herself. She taught me to always be kind, resilient, and to believe in myself, and I am so proud of the person I've become because of her. Whenever I need her, she's always there for me. I hope I can be a role model to my kids one day the same way she is for me.

Tawhida Ben Cheikh is a remarkable Tunisian doctor whose life represents courage, determination, and the power of education. Born in 1909 in Tunis, she grew up at a time when it was very rare for women to pursue higher education, especially in medicine. However, she refused to let society's expectations limit her dreams. Through hard work and determination, she became the first female physician in Tunisia and in the entire Maghreb region. After studying medicine in Paris, she returned to Tunisia to serve her community. She dedicated her life to improving healthcare, particularly for women and children. Later, she became the head of the maternity department at Charles Nicolle Hospital, where she helped thousands of families and trained many future doctors. What makes her truly inspirational is not only her achievements but also her determination to break barriers. She proved that women can succeed in fields from which they were once excluded. Her work opened doors for generations of Tunisian women who dreamed of becoming doctors, scientists, and leaders. Today, she is also honored on the Tunisian dinar, a reminder of the lasting impact she had on her country. She didn't just become a doctor; she became a symbol of progress, equality, and hope.

A woman who has always inspired me and helped me discover my favorite obsession is Sally Ride. Sally Ride was one of six women to become Astronauts for NASA in 1978, and in 1983, she was chosen to be part of the STS-7 Mission, becoming the first woman to be sent into space! I remember hearing about her in middle school during a class discussion and was in awe hearing her story. Before joining NASA, she was a Physicist and a Tennis player. No matter what field she was in, she always aspired to be the best, which made me try to aspire to be the best at whatever I engage in. Sally Ride also helped me discover my passion: outer space! From the time I heard about her and NASA, I've been hooked on all things outer space. Sadly, Sally Ride passed away on July 23, 2012. She may be gone, but she lives on in my heart!

One woman who truly inspires me is a legendary historical figure: Susan B. Anthony. The woman who ran so that we could all walk. She made it possible for all women in America to be treated with dignity, respect, and above all else: equality. She believed women deserved the same rights and respect as men, even when many people told her she was wrong for these ideas. She traveled across the country through multiple trials and tribulations. She gave motivating speeches, she organized special movements, and she encouraged women to stand up for themselves. Despite hurdles and setbacks and even physical violence against her, she never stopped fighting for us. In 1872, women were meant to raise the kids and cook. Where was she? Voting in an election to prove her point, knowing she could be arrested for it. Unfortunately, she was ultimately put on trial, all for just voting. She again stayed strong and never apologized for believing women deserved equality. She never got to see women win the right to vote during her lifetime, but thanks to her persistence just a mere 20 years later, we as women finally caught a break thanks to her. The Nineteenth Amendment became part of the U.S. Constitution on August 18th, 1920, officially marking when women's suffrage had finally ended. Her courage helped give millions of women a voice and still inspires so many women to this day, and that, to me, is the most powerful thing imaginable.

Harriet Tubman is a beacon of courage and resilience whose story shines brighter than most. Born into slavery in the early 1820s, she endured unimaginable hardships but refused to let them define her. Escaping to freedom was just the beginning. Harriet risked her life countless times to guide others to safety through the Underground Railroad. Each journey back into the South could have ended in capture or death, yet she returned again and again, fearless and determined. Her bravery didn't stop there. During the Civil War, Harriet served as a spy, nurse, and scout, proving that her fight for justice extended far beyond freeing enslaved people. What makes her truly inspiring is her selflessness and unwavering commitment to helping others, even when it meant putting herself in grave danger. Harriet Tubman's legacy reminds us that one person's courage can spark monumental change. She teaches that resilience, hope, and compassion are powerful forces that can reshape lives and history itself. Every life she touched, every soul she led to freedom, is a testament to the extraordinary impact one determined woman can make. Harriet Tubman didn't just fight for freedom. She became freedom's living symbol, inspiring generations to stand strong, act bravely, and shine brightly.

Princess Diana remains one of the most admired figures in modern history. Born into British nobility, she became known around the world after marrying Prince Charles and joining the royal family. Yet her fame was not only because of royalty, but because of her kindness and humanity. Diana used the intense media attention around her to highlight causes that many people ignored. She visited hospitals, comforted sick children, and supported people living with HIV/AIDS at a time when fear and misunderstanding surrounded the disease. By simply holding patients' hands and speaking to them with warmth, she helped change how the world viewed those who were suffering. Another important contribution was her support for the campaign against landmines. Diana walked through active minefields in protective gear to raise awareness of the dangers they caused to civilians, especially children. Her actions brought global attention to the issue and helped inspire international efforts to reduce landmines. Beyond her charity work, Diana influenced the world through her compassion and courage. She showed that public figures could use their fame to make people feel seen and valued. Many admired how she remained caring and genuine even while living under constant public scrutiny. To me, Princess Diana is my personal hero because she proved that kindness can be powerful. She reminded the world that empathy, humility, and love can create real change. Her legacy continues to inspire new generations to care for others and speak with compassion always.

In a world full of glitter, runways, and endless dress-up, female leadership can easily go unnoticed. Behind every fashion show, every creative event, there are women quietly guiding the chaos, keeping things running, and making sure everyone has a chance to shine. Leadership in spaces that look effortless often requires patience, imagination, and attention to detail, qualities that many overlook. In Woozworld, Sowilo is one of those women. She used to host games, organize runways, and guide a whole community with care. From what I can tell, she drew inspiration from other remarkable women in the community, like MyaWooz, and her example seems to have passed on to animators like Chai. What Sowilo shows is true for many women in Woozworld and beyond. Leadership can be quiet, creative, and behind the scenes, especially in spaces that look glamorous or easy. The women who organize, guide, and support others are shaping communities, encouraging confidence, and setting examples that inspire people to step up. Their work is layered with thought, effort, and heart, making everything around them sparkle in ways people often don't notice at first glance. Even as a newcomer, I can see how Sowilo shaped the community, encouraged others to step up, and made what looks effortless actually take heart. This Women's Month, I hope we celebrate women like her; the ones behind the glitter, the runways, and the fun, whose quiet leadership makes everything shine brighter. For me, the best leaders are the ones who make everyone feel like a star.

My inspiring woman is MyaWooz. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to make Woozworld a better place. Any quest we have, Mya makes it fun. Any game we have, Mya makes it fun. The best thing about her is that she made Woozworld what it is today. THANK YOU MYA FOR YOUR WONDERFUL SELF, AND ALSO STAY STYLISH!! -LOVE YOUR BIGGEST FAN, OVERLAPED! xoxo p.s. love the red hair.

My inspiration for International Women's Day is going to have to be Zeena because she started as the Villain, and over the years she has told us the truth to our faces. If she didn't like your style, she never sugar-coated anything. Zeena is shown to be a caring friend, but her heated rivalry with her frenemy, MyaWooz, is what really had us shooketh. Zeena really didn't need to prove anything to anybody because she's always been that girl, and I admire her confidence, her persona, and how she keeps her size 6 heels on our necks. Zeena really keeps us entertained, and I'm so amazed at how you start off as the Villain, but at the end of the movie, she became the Protagonist and basically who the audience wants to protect. You know her name before she enters the room, her resilient power puts you in your place before she even speaks, and most importantly, she stands in her own lane, owning it like it's a runway. Zeena is known to many as MOTHA or Mother, but she's "Mom" to Rose as Zeena decided to raise Lil Rose as her own daughter. That right there is deep; as the saying goes... "Mother is not the one who Births, Mother is the one who Raises." That goes to show you that when something happens, Zeena takes the lead and makes sure that Rose is Okay. In conclusion, I dedicate this piece to Zeena.

When I think of a woman who has inspired me personally, I first think of the French actress Anna Karina. In the 1960s, a time when many actresses in cinema were styled as perfect, polished symbols, Karina did not overwhelm the screen with glamour. To me, her presence feels innocent, dreamy, and a little melancholic. Her characters were not distant idols of perfection. Instead, they were ordinary women thinking, feeling, and searching for meaning in their lives. She could laugh, wander through a scene, or simply sit in silence, and the moment would still feel alive. Watching her films taught me that beauty can exist even in the most ordinary moments. Growing up in the 2010s, I had become accustomed to celebrities who felt carefully designed, commercial, and larger than life. Discovering Anna Karina felt like encountering something from a different universe. Her presence was carefree, artistic, and wonderfully human. In a small way, she also inspires me to step outside my own timid cocoon and live more freely.

Alysa Liu, the US Figure Skater Gold Medalist of 2026 Milan Olympics, is so inspiring. She skates like it's no one's business, and genuinely has fun with the sport. It's really impactful for her to be her unapologetic self, and the way she shines, it will be inspiring for everyone, not just for girls. Alysa left me in awe when she danced and skated with so much passion/love for the sport on her terms. She makes me want to do the same for my art career. With so many negative things happening around me, she taught and inspired me to make the art that my friends and I did with her silly pose. My art will thrive on my happiness, and there's no good out of being a perfectionist. She, even at her young age, taught us that it's OK to have fun, even in the stressful events of your life. I think I want that passion for myself. That's why she is an inspiring young woman for all of us. :)

A woman who has been inspiring to me is Lydia Elise Millen. She is and has been an influencer for over 11 years. In those 11 years, she has adapted and changed her style and content with her growth. Unfortunately, some people say she is fake or hate on her because she no longer fits their perceived image of how they want her to be. I came across Lydia in the last few months, on the back of her new book and journal "Evergreen." "Evergreen" aims to inspire people to see the beauty in all seasons. Being British, we often have many grey, rainy, and outright depressing days in the beginning of the year, but Lydia Millen and "Evergreen" have really helped me come out of my wanna-be hermit state, and to actually embrace the days that maybe aren't as sunny or beautiful as others. Her book has yummy recipes, and she even delves into her own struggles. Which really has helped me feel less alone with mine. Overall she is an example to be followed; she is strong and self-taught, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been through the wringer at times. She is authentic and true to herself and one of very few genuine influencers, and she openly speaks about the lack of authenticity across the board in terms of social media, strategy, and marketing. Everyone should take a leaf out of her book. I am forever grateful to have come across her platform.

One inspiring woman I really admire is Alysa Liu. She is known for being an amazing figure skater, but what inspires me the most about her is how confidently she expresses herself. In a sport where athletes are often expected to follow strict rules about appearance, behavior, and even body image, Alysa stands out because she embraces freedom and individuality. She shows that you don't need to follow extreme standards or strict diets to be successful. Instead, she focuses on enjoying what she does and being comfortable with who she is. I also love Alysa's sense of fashion and personal style. Whether she's on the ice or off it, she isn't afraid to experiment and show her personality. Her style feels fun, bold, and authentic. It reminds me that fashion can be a way to express who you are, not something you have to limit yourself with. What makes Alysa truly powerful is her mindset. She proves that success doesn't have to mean sacrificing your happiness or individuality. You can work hard, chase your dreams, and still stay true to yourself. To me, Alysa Liu represents confidence, creativity, and freedom. She inspires people to love what they do, express themselves without fear, and remember that being yourself is always the most powerful thing you can be.

The stands were packed, but no one uttered a single sound. Every person held their breath as they watched a woman channel her strength into forceful shouts, as if releasing the remaining dredges of power she had left. The iconic green ball sailed through the air back and forth until it finally hit the ground. Like pressing play on a paused video, deafening cheers of joy erupted throughout the court and around the world. This is the usual scene at a match played by Alexandra Eala. The 20-year-old tennis superstar from the Philippines has revitalized Women's Tennis, bringing an electric crowd of dedicated supporters to every court she steps foot in. Since her breakthrough run at the Miami Open 2025 tournament, where she defeated top-ranked players as a relatively unknown name, she has since made her mark as a promising young talent in the world of professional tennis. Her unique skill set has enabled her to quickly climb up the rankings in the year since the Miami Open 2025. However, it is her resilience, humility, and endless love for the game and her supporters that have captured the hearts and attention of the tennis world. For fans from the Philippines, she is not simply a fellow Filipino to support; she is the ONLY Philippine representative competing at this level of play, carrying the representation of an entire nation on her shoulders. With the Miami Open 2026 happening this month, we could watch her win the tournament that started it all.

One Filipina who truly inspires me is Maria Ressa. She is known for her courage and for standing up for the truth, even when it is difficult. Maria Ressa is a journalist and co-founder of Rappler. Through her work, she helps inform people about what is happening in the country and around the world. Journalism can be risky, especially when powerful people don't like what is being reported, but she continues to do her job with honesty and determination. What makes her inspiring is that she never backs down from defending freedom of expression and the importance of facts. Even when she faces criticism and challenges, she keeps speaking up because she believes people deserve the truth. Because of her bravery and dedication to press freedom, Maria Ressa received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021. This recognition showed the world how important it is to protect journalism and free speech. Maria Ressa reminds us that courage doesn't always mean being loud, it can also mean quietly standing firm in what you believe is right. Her story inspires many Filipinos to value truth, responsibility, and the power of speaking up.

Someone who has really inspired me is Taylor Swift. Why? Because she has accomplished so much in her life before she even became a singer. When she was just 16, she'd done so many different genres of music, has won so many awards, has donated to different charities all across the globe, and she adores her fans, the Swifties. Just how much she adores them! Even after being told for one genre of music, "you can't do that" or "no one's going to listen to a different genre," that didn't stop her. She did the opposite of that. She showed everyone that she could, and she thanked her fans for giving her the opportunity to actually re-purchase her music back after having it stolen from her.

Malala Yousafzai inspires me because she proved that education can change the direction of a girl's life, no matter where she comes from. When extremists banned girls from attending school in her hometown, she refused to stay silent. At just eleven years old, she began writing for BBC Urdu, speaking openly about her desire to learn and the fear she and other girls faced under Taliban rule. What I admire most is that Malala understood something powerful: when girls are denied education, they're denied opportunities, choices, and a future. Her voice didn't just challenge the rules in her community; it sparked a global movement. After surviving an attack meant to silence her, she continued advocating even louder, eventually becoming the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate at seventeen. Because of Malala, millions of people now recognize how essential girls' education is. Her courage reminds me that one brave person can help shift the world.

Beautiful, right?
