UnitZ Contest: Plant a Flower Day

Hello Woozens,

Did you notice that the sun is still shining at 5pm and that the temperature has slightly increased?

I have!

And it makes me happy to see that spring is starting to take its place.

To get you in the mood for this amazing season, here's a simple but fun contest that will also highlight the International Plant a Flower Day on March 12th!

What we ask is that you create a Unitz in the colors of spring, with flowers, trees and other accessories that you may find in your creative mind.

You have until March 15th 11:59pm to participate, voting will start on March 16th.

Here are some fun facts about flowers:

-In the 1600s in Holland, tulip bulbs were worth more than gold.

-Blue cohosh (AKA squaw root or papoose root), was used by Native American women to assist with easy labour and childbirth.

-In 2002 in northeast China, scientists discovered the world's oldest flower. Archaefructus sinensis, which looks similar to a lily, bloomed over 125 million years ago.

-During the invasion of Vikings in Scotland hundreds of years ago, a flower called wild thistle slowed the invaders down, giving the Scots enough time to escape. Nowadays, the wild thistle is the national flower of Scotland.

Good luck to everyone!

Oh, don't forget, we're turning back the clock on Saturday night ;)
